چکیده

This paper introduces a new approach to classification which combines pairwise decomposition techniques with ideas and tools from fuzzy preference modeling. More specifically, our approach first decomposes a polychotomous classification problem involving m classes into an ensemble of binary problems, one for each ordered pair of classes. The corresponding classifiers are trained on the relevant subsets of the (transformed) original training data. In the classification phase, a new query is submitted to every binary learner. The output of each classifier is interpreted as a fuzzy degree of preference for the first in comparison with the second class. By combining the outputs of all classifiers, one thus obtains a fuzzy preference relation which is taken as a point of departure for the final classification decision. This way, the problem of classification is effectively reduced to a problem of decision making based on a fuzzy preference relation. Corresponding techniques, which have been investigated quite intensively in the field of fuzzy set theory, hence become amenable to the task of classification. In particular, by decomposing a preference relation into a strict preference, an indifference, and an incomparability

UNCERTAINTY DATA CREATING INTERVAL-VALUED FUZZY RELATION IN DECISION MAKING MODEL WITH GENERAL PREFERENCE STRUCTURE

The paper introduces a new approach to preference structure, where from a weak preference relation derive the following relations:strict preference, indifference and incomparability, which by aggregations and negations are created and examined. We decomposing a preference relation into a strict preference, anindifference, and an incomparability relation. This approach allows one to quantify diff...

Comparison of Ranking Procedures in Pairwise Preference Learning

Computational methods for discovering the preferences of individuals are useful in many applications. In this paper, we propose a method for learning valued preference structures, using a natural extension of so-called pairwise classification. A valued preference structure can then be used in order to induce a ranking, that is a linear ordering of a given set of alternatives. This step is reali...

Solving Selected Classification Problems in Bioinformatics Using Multilayer Neural Network Based on Multi-Valued Neurons (MLMVN)

A multilayer neural network based on multi-valued neurons (MLMVN) is a new powerful tool for solving classification, recognition and prediction problems. This network has a number of specific properties and advantages that follow from the nature of a multi-valued neuron (complexvalued weights and inputs/outputs lying on the unit circle). Its backpropagation learning algorithm is derivative-free...

A Metacognitive Fully Complex Valued Functional Link Network for solving real valued classification problems

In this paper, a sequential learning based meta-cognitive fully complex valued functional link network (Mc-FCFLN) is developed for solving complex real world problems. Mc-FCFLN network consists of two components: a cognitive component and a meta-cognitive one. A fully complex-valued functional link network (FCFLN) is a cognitive component and the self-regulatory learning method is its meta-cogn...

A Multi-valued Neuron with a Periodic Activation Function

In this paper, a new activation function for the multi-valued neuron (MVN) is presented. The MVN is a neuron with complex-valued weights and inputs/output, which are located on the unit circle. Although the MVN has a greater functionality than a sigmoidal or radial basis function neurons, it has a limited capability of learning highly nonlinear functions. A periodic activation function, which i...
